Downtown
Grand Haven, Michigan sits conveniently
on the Grand River and Lake Michigan. Take the
2.5 mile boardwalk along the river with its beautifully

One
of the big gathering spots in downtown
Grand Haven Michigan is its 2.5 mile long boardwalk along
the Grand River with shops, restaurants and parks spreading
from the inviting stores at Chinook Pier to the Grand Haven
Lighthouse. Many of the local restaurants have outdoor
deck dining in the summer and live entertainment, too.
There’s jazz, blues, rock, pop and country music
playing throughout the year.
The same boardwalk,
decorated with flowers and hanging baskets, going inland
takes visitors to the enchanting Chinook Pier shopping area
and the city’s
Farmers Market. And, if you don’t want to walk, just
catch the city’s Harbor Trolley for a delightful
narrated tour of the city.
Steam
locomotive exhibit:
The Pere Marquette #1223 steam locomotive took its last
trip nearly 50 years ago but visitors can still enjoy
the feel of that golden age of railroading by visiting
the #1223 locomotive and four car train preserved and
on display on Harbor Avenue next to the Chinook Pier.
Downtown
Grand Haven Michigan has some of the top restaurants along the eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan. Within
a few short blocks, visitors to the Lake Michigan shoreline
city can enjoy fine dining from wonderful steaks and
pasta dishes to clams, oysters and fresh seafood at
the many fine city restaurants. A tip to the
wise, it is always best to call first for reservations.
It
seems during the summer, every night is fun night
in downtown Grand Haven Michigan. Local entertainment spots feature live weekend music. The city also has an
array of popular watering
holes where you can sip Cosmopolitans
or enjoy one of great microbrewery beers from Michigan
while you reminisce about your day at the beach or the
great buy you discovered downtown.

Haven offers several lakeside and lake view dining spots. Nothing
beats sitting in the sun having a burger or full course
meal under a deck umbrella while the waves roll in off
Lake Michigan.
